ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

We are still turning a blind eye to the violence, glorified by the media, (cinema, television and advertising) engulfing our children. They are taught that violence is an option, that celebrity in any form, is a role model without checking out the difference between what it takes to be a true role model and anyone else who is just experiencing their 15 minutes of notoriety. True celebrity has a responsibility to help make this a better world. It is time to reexamine what’s going on in the world around us and rededicate ourselves to the time honored traditions and values that have kept us strong in the past.

TALK IS CHEAP! We must put our words into action so our feelings and emotions are more than empty promises. I call on each of us to get motivated and reestablish positive communication with our children. This mission needs to be embraced by everyone. Our children need to feel safe in their schools, at home and in the world around them.

Violence in any form either physical or verbal is not acceptable! A civil society begins with a civil tongue. Our community to this point has been very lucky but that could all change in the blink of an eye. All those who share a vision of community need to roll up their sleeves and work to make it happen NOW!
