EARLY CHILDHOOD NEWS

Fern Leff

What a winter! This wonderful winter weather is a fabulous resource for many enlightening explorations. There is lots of excitement for our children as this is the first time they have experienced snow. Classrooms are very busy making discoveries while learning about their five senses.

Tu B'Shevat marks the beginning of Spring in Israel. We will celebrate by feasting on fruits and nuts to welcome the "New Year of the Trees". In Israel it’s a time for planning and refurbishing. What a contrast from our weather here!

With February comes "Groundhog Day". We'll discuss shadows and what makes them. We'll make groundhogs and watch their shadows dance and hide.

We will also introduce the children to Presidents Lincoln and Washington. Through stories and songs the children will learn the importance of these men in our American Heritage.

We will be having a Camp Open House on Sunday, February 4. If you haven't yet made arrangements for a fun filled summer for your child. You can hear all about it. Please consider registering for camp.

Please join us for a musical Tot Shabbat on Friday evening February 9 at 6:30PM Come and bring a toddler, child or grandchild and share in the Shabbat fun in the Chapel.

Applications for school for next year are now available.
