As we enter April, we are anxiously preparing for Passover. This is a favorite time of year for all young children because families prepare and celebrate together. In school the children become familiar with the holiday by learning about ritual objects and routines. Creative and unique Haggadahs, Seder Plates, Kiddush Cups and Matzo Covers are lovingly made by the children to accessorize your family Seder Tables. We will a have special Seder for children only here at school on Thursday, April 5th. Many of the preparations for this Seder have taken place in the classrooms. Aromas of holiday foods permeate our halls. Matzo meal pancakes, matzo brie and even matzo are being sampled as part of this enriching experience. Stories of Moses, Pharaoh, the Plagues, and the Exodus of the Jewish people mesmerize the children. They will be making puppets and card games to bring home they can share this experience with their families. We also celebrate Yom Ha'Atzmaut this month, Israel's Independence Day. We recognize Israel's 53rd year of independence by baking cakes, marching and creating Flags and Banners. In the midst of these holidays we will also be thrilled to address Spring. After the winter we've seen this year - we can't wait! Day Camp and School '01-'02 Registration is filling. Please stop by or call for applications. Happy Passover to all! |
