Fern Leff Even with the bitter cold winter upon us, the spirit and warmth in our Early Childhood Center is heartwarming. For many children this may be the first time they will have the experience of snow. Winter weather is a wonderful resource for many exciting explorations. There is lots of excitement as the children learn about themselves and the world they live in. Our classes will be conducting simple experiments and making discoveries while learning about their five senses. With February also comes “Groundhog Day”. We’ll discuss shadows and what makes them. We’ll make groundhogs and watch their shadows dance and hide. We will also introduce our children to Presidents Lincoln and Washington. The importance of these men in our heritage will be learned through stories and songs. Get ready for another exciting Tot Shabbat. Rabbi Susman and Cantor Zeitlin will be conducting an age appropriate service for our pre-schoolers on Friday, February 11th at 6:30 pm. We welcome all young children to participate and share in the fun. Children are welcome to wear pajamas and bring their favorite Teddy Bear. Registration for Camp and School 2000 is in a full swing. If you haven’t made arrangements for a fun filled summer, please join us for an Open House on Sunday, February 6th from 10:00 am to 12 Noon to find out what we have in store. Applications for school are currently available.
